Child Cancer Foundation received tickets to your variety show.Two of these families had recently lost a child and the other had a child recently diagnosed with a brain tumour so it was wonderful to be able to offer them a chance to get away from their worries for a few hours.

Children We Help

The charity organization gives emphasis to children who are in desperate need of urgent help. Children with cerebral palsy who need a walking frame are assisted as well as those who need ongoing treatment.

On the photo to the right you will see a little boy who has cerebral palsy walking with the help of a Hart Walker frame which is a specialised piece of machinery specifically used to help sufferers of cerebral palsy.

These Hart Walkers are amazing for the children who have never walked before, enabling them to move around independantly for the first time in their lives.The delight on the childrens faces when they
first walk using the Hart Walker is a sight to behold.You can see in the photo that the child has even managed to hit a softball with a softball bat - something he would have only previously dreamed of.

As the child grows older (and taller) the Hart Walker frame is able to be adjusted to the child's height. Eventually the child's leg muscles are able to be developed to the point where, in many cases, the child is able to disgard the Hart Walker and walk completely independently.

Hope for Children also gives food parcels and gifts to families in need especially around Christmas time. As well, we run many events annually for special needs children, giving them a great day out that they may not have experienced otherwise. You can read more about these events on the Events page.
